Sailing Home Masculine Card

This card is perfect for an anniversary card for that special man in your life, and if they like boats, even better. I used the 'Come sail away memories & more card pack' for the background and the sailing boat, which made it super quick to make. I love the colours and the little die cut elements used.

Tools: Banner punch
Cardstock: Whisper white & night of navy

Cheerful Daisies Card

This card makes me feel so happy and brings a smile to my face everytime I look at it. I love the bright colours used and how the lemon lolly colour pops. The card bases were a free product from sale-a-brations a couple of years ago, and I am so glad I managed to get a pack, as they sold out very quickly. I used an old die set to create the bouquet, which works perfectly with the cheerful daisies dies.

Products used

Dies: Cheerful daisies, bouquet bunch, boho indigo
Cardstock: Whisper white, lemon lolly, granny apple green & crumb cake
Card base: Soft sea foam cards & envelopes pack
Inks: Verso mark & white embossing powder

I have one more lovely slimeline card that I would like to share for Valentine's Day. This card is based on my previous trifold card I made a year ago. I wanted to keep the colour combination to black, white, silver and red. This card could also be used as a wedding or anniversary card!

Friendly Gnomes Valentine's Day Card

Valentine's Day is only 3 days away, so I have a cute card using the 'Friendly Gnomes' stamp set (now retired) to share. How cute is that little gnome...I had a lot of fun creating this card, and it was pretty simple to make.

Adorable Owls Shadow Box Card

I can't seem to get enough of these adorable owls...my mind is just spinning with so many ideas that I want to make with these little cuties!

For this card, I knew I wanted to create a shadow box type card, that folds flat and is suitable for posting. I wanted to make the colours go from light to dark, so the card had some depth and a mystical feel about it. It took me a little while to work out all the measurements, and I will do a tutorial at some stage with the instructions when I have some more time on my hands.

For the owl, I used my water brush and a couple of drops of refill ink in crumb cake and tip top taupe for the head and body. I used my stampin blends for the eyes, beak and feet. I also used a thin strip of a window sheet to hold the owl in place, which makes the owl look like it's flying.

The tree dies unfortunately are not Stampin Up dies, as I was after a certain size for this card. The sentiment is one I created and printed myself.

Products used

Stamps: Adorable owls
Dies: Circle, banner & winter trees (by MFT)
Cardstock: Crumb cake, soft suede, early espresso, whisper white & window sheet
Inks: Memento black
Stampin blends: Granny apple green & mango melody
DSP: Twinkle twinkle
Sentiment: made myself (non SU)

Beautiful Angled Scalloped Tri-Fold Wedding Card

I have been wanting to try my hand at the angle tri-fold cards for a little while now, as I have seen many of these amazing cards on the web. I also wanted my card to be a tall slimline card that fits nicely into a DL envelope. I have made more complicated cards in the past, so I was sure this one wouldn't be too difficult to master.

I decided to make a wedding/engagement card, so I could use a new 'congrats' sentiment die I purchased recently...sorry it is not a SU die. I used one of my favourite colour combinations and kept the design fairly simple. The hardest part of the card was doing the scalloped edge around the whole card (except the bottom) and getting the angles correct.

I also added a different DSP design to the inside left and right sides and the back of the card which I didn't take a photo of...sorry! This helped to cover the bottom edge of the scalloped pieces, so the card looked much cleaner. There is no stamping on this card, as I often like to use different die cuts instead.

I made quite a few of these cards all in different colour combinations and sizes, and will share them down the track.

Products used

Dies: Stitched be mine, wonderful floral, cherry blossoms
Punch: Itty bitty accents flower
Cardstock: Whisper white, pool party, real red & flirty flamingo
DSP: From my heart & silver glimmer
Sentiment: congrats die (non SU)
Embellishments: Silver rhinestones & white pearls

Brightest Beauty Card

I was thrilled to see an Australian stamp set in last year's mini catalogue, as most of the stamp sets are very Americanised and are not always suitable. When I saw the Australian wattle, I knew I had to purchase this one. I also loved that it came with dies as well, as I didn't fancy fussy cutting this one out by hand.

I did the traditional wattle colours for my card, but will try some different colours down the track for the flowers. My card is simple enough that it can be used for any occasion.

Products used

Stamps: Brightest beauty
Dies: Golden beauty
Cardstock: Whisper white & gold metallic specialty paper
DSP: Tasty treats
Inks: Garden green & daffodil delight
Sentiment: True beauty
Embellishments: Brushed metallic gold dots & linen thread

Adorable Owls Card

Today's card is is a night version of the owl card I previously posted.

For the background, I used the night sky paper from the twinkle twinkle DSP. I cut a large circle and used another piece of white card stock underneath and stamped a moon (from Lavinia Stamps) in that space.

I used stampin blends to colour my owl, making sure I used light and dark shades. The branch and leaves were die cut using the apple blossoms dies. I assembled the card and added a handmade sentiment that I created myself.

I love how this card turned out and the moon adds the brightness the card needed.

Products used

Stamps: Adorable owls & moon (non SU)
Dies: Apple blossoms, circle & banner
Cardstock: Night of navy, whisper white, early espresso & mossy meadow
Inks: Memento black & seaside spray
Stampin blends: Crumb cake, SU100, SU300, seaside spray & mango melody
DSP: Twinkle twinkle
Sentiment: made myself (non SU)

All Occasion Masculine Card

I have one last card to share for father's day this year, or for any occasion really.

The DSP is from several years ago, but still a favourite of mine for masculine cards because of the deep rich colours. I created the moon with large circle dies by die cutting a large circle, then using a smaller circle to cut away the inside of the shape. The sentiment is not from Stampin Up, but came free with a scrapbooking magazine I purchased years ago.

I used some tiny little gold rhinestones on the points of the stars constellations, but they are a little hard to see in the photo's...in real life they really do sparkle.

Products used

Dies: Large circles
Cardstock: Very vanilla & brushed metallic gold
Inks: Basic black
DSP:
Going places
Sentiment: Unknown
Embellishments: Tiny gold rhinestones

Climbing Orchid Card

I am one of those demonstrators that holds onto most stamps sets that I have purchased, as you just never know when you'll need them. This card shows the use of the 'Jar of Love' and the 'Climbing Orchid' stamp sets...both favourites sets of mine! I love the colours and simplicity of the orchid sitting in the jar.

Products used

Stamps: Jar of love & climbing orchid
Dies: Orchid builder framelits & branch die (non SU)
Cardstock: Whisper white, crumb cake, water colour paper & silver glimmer

All Occasions Card

I have my first club night for the year next week, and this is one of the cards we will be making. I will be show casing the new 'Basic Border Dies' which will be available for purchase on 4 May.

For this card I have used my favourite border in the set, it's my favourite because I can do two different borders with the one die. I die cut 2 borders, one in daffodil delight, and one in white, which was a larger piece so I could use it for the background. For the white border, I simply trimmed off the small scalloped edges and then placed this piece over the top of the daffodil delight piece.

The patterned background and flower I used, is from the 'True Love' DSP. I coloured the flower with my daffodil delight and granny apple green blender pens. I used 'Gorgeous Grunge' stamp set (now retired) for the ink splatter behind the flower. I also coloured some old clear glitter enamel dots (also retired) with my daffodil delight blender pen to make the bling pop a little more on the card.

Love You to Pieces Card

Since it is valentine's day tomorrow, I wanted to share another card for this occasion. Whilst this card is probably more suitable as an anniversary card for your loved one, it could be easily adapted to a valentine's day card by changing the sentiment.

Most of the products I used are now retired, but you could use current products to make something similar.

Valentine's Day Card

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I have another stunning card to share to mark this special occasion.

I cased Steffi Helmschrott's card, but made a few changes, like using a cute little envelope instead of a box. This card was a bit of a challenge to add the red and white splatter dots, as I wanted it to look like the splatter was coming out of the envelope.....I got there in the end.

Sending Love Card

This card is perfect for any occasion and given all the craziness in the world right now with the Coronavirus, it's a perfect time to send a card like this to someone you love.

Since I am unable to visit my parents for the next little while, I will be sending this card to them, just so they know that I am thinking of them during this time.

Sailing Home Interactive Card

Who doesn't love the 'Sailing Home' bundle in the Stampin Up annual catalogue? I adore this set, probably because I grew up down the coast, so it reminds me of home.

I have seen a few cards online that light up, and was inspired by Isabell Jauss's card, and knew I had to do something similar. Isabell, has a video of how she did the card, but unfortunately it is in German, so I couldn't understand a word, but I got the general idea just by watching it.

The products Isabell used to make the light mechanism, are not available in Australia, so I made the decision to invested in a chibi-tronics kit instead, so I could give it a go myself. This kit came with simple instructions that you can easily apply to a card. The third image shows the light on, when 'buoy is pressed'.

Sending Love Card

This is a card I made for a colour challenge that I was given for one of my upline team meetings, and since Valentines Day is in a couple of days, it was a good time to share it.

Love You to Pieces Card

Valentines Day is next week, so I thought it would be best to share a card suitable for the occasion.

I cased one of the cards for the 'Love you to Pieces' bundle on page 113 of the 2018-2019 Stampin Up annual catalogue. I made a couple of small changes, one being the size of the card and I used a different doily and ribbon.

Jar of Love Card

I wanted to showcase another card using the "Jar of Love" stamp set with the coordinating dies. I was inspired by a card that I had seen on pinterest made by Pamela Staples, I loved the fresh summery colours she used and decided that I would case it making a few subtle changes.

I silver embossed my background splotches and the jar on vellum paper, then I cut another jar out of a window sheet and attached it to the vellum jar with some linen thread to hold the two together. This gave my jar a nice glossy look...like a real glass jar.

The jar was stuck down on the two sides, so I could slide the flower stems and leaves into the top of the jar. Lastly, I added a tag and some fireflies to finish off the card.

Foxy Friends - Wild About You Card

The new "Foxy Friends" stamp set and coordinating punch is proving to be very popular bundle. I love how versatile this set is and I have seen so many wonderful creations made with it, and I thought it was time to share one of my own designs...a very simple card!

Since I did not have a stamp that said "wild about you" I decided to print my own sentiment instead.
