Adorable Owls Birthday Card

Sharing a clean and simple adorable owls card which doesn't take too long to make. I created the clouds using a cloud stencil from MFT using soft sky ink, then stamped the tree branch from the 'take care' stamp set (retired).

For the owl and balloon I used my stampin blends and then fussy cut them both. I assembled the owl and balloon to sit on top of the branch and added a handmade sentiment that I created myself.

Hello Cupcake Birthday Card

Sharing a card I made quite some years ago which I cased from Mary Haugen at the time. It uses one of the free sale-a-brations items back from 2019, which I still own today. I did make some subtle changes to my card so that it was a little different.

Sailing Home Masculine Card

Using this sentiment, makes it a perfect card for a graduation card.

Tree Rings Greeting Card

When I first saw this card from Katie Drew, I loved it so much, that I ended up buying the products to be able to make the card myself.

This was a very time consuming card, as it took ages to colour all the little branches, berries and toadstools with my stampin blends. However, once the colouring was done, it didn't take too long to assemble all the bits and pieces.

I didn't stray too much from Katie's card, as I felt it was perfect the way it was, but I did make a few slight changes to make it my own. I didn't use as many little branches, and added a side piece of DSP and a strip of cherry cobbler card stock to add a little more interest. I also used a different sentiment and fussy cut around the words.

Beautiful Angled Scalloped Tri-Fold Wedding Card

I have been wanting to try my hand at the angle tri-fold cards for a little while now, as I have seen many of these amazing cards on the web. I also wanted my card to be a tall slimline card that fits nicely into a DL envelope. I have made more complicated cards in the past, so I was sure this one wouldn't be too difficult to master.

I decided to make a wedding/engagement card, so I could use a new 'congrats' sentiment die I purchased recently...sorry it is not a SU die. I used one of my favourite colour combinations and kept the design fairly simple. The hardest part of the card was doing the scalloped edge around the whole card (except the bottom) and getting the angles correct.

I also added a different DSP design to the inside left and right sides and the back of the card which I didn't take a photo of...sorry! This helped to cover the bottom edge of the scalloped pieces, so the card looked much cleaner. There is no stamping on this card, as I often like to use different die cuts instead.

I made quite a few of these cards all in different colour combinations and sizes, and will share them down the track.

Adorable Owls Birthday Card

This card does feature lots of die cuts from different die sets (five to be exact), which I normally don't do too often, but you can substitute any of the floral dies with ones that you already own.

The background was made using the stitched greenery die, and all the foliage die cuts are from the other four die sets listed at the bottom of this post. I assembled the stems of all the foliage behind the circle piece of card stock and then stuck the owl on the top of the circle. The silver glimmer card stock gives the card some shine which meant I didn't have to use any other bling.

Adorable Owls Birthday Card

I think the tree rings embossing folder and coordinating dies pair perfectly with the adorable owls stamps, as the owls are just the right size and fit nicely into the tree ring holes. I will be promoting both of these products at my next club night...so girls, prepare for cuteness overload!

The owls did take a little time to colour and cut for this card, so if anyone wants to make this card, then you'll need some patients!

I am so glad that I kept a couple of older bird stamps sets (bird banter and hello love) as the sentiments from these are perfect to use with the owls and gives you a few more options for your cards. I used the 'A little birdie told me' stamp for the front of the card, and 'It was your birthday' stamp for the inside of the card.

Brightest Beauty Card

I was thrilled to see an Australian stamp set in last year's mini catalogue, as most of the stamp sets are very Americanised and are not always suitable. When I saw the Australian wattle, I knew I had to purchase this one. I also loved that it came with dies as well, as I didn't fancy fussy cutting this one out by hand.

I did the traditional wattle colours for my card, but will try some different colours down the track for the flowers. My card is simple enough that it can be used for any occasion.

Adorable Owls Birthday Card

I saw a beautiful card that Madeleine Mrotzek made using the rays of light stamp set and wanted to give it a go myself.

For the background, I used my blender brushes to add the rainbow ink colours to the stamp, making sure I started off with the lightest colour first (yellow). This gave a nice subtle feel to the stamp image.

For the owl and balloon I used my stampin blends to colour and then fussy cut them both.

Adorable Owls Card

Today's card is is a night version of the owl card I previously posted.

For the background, I used the night sky paper from the twinkle twinkle DSP. I cut a large circle and used another piece of white card stock underneath and stamped a moon (from Lavinia Stamps) in that space.

I used stampin blends to colour my owl, making sure I used light and dark shades. The branch and leaves were die cut using the apple blossoms dies. I assembled the card and added a handmade sentiment that I created myself.

I love how this card turned out and the moon adds the brightness the card needed.

Adorable Owls Card

So my favourite stamp set in the new sale-a-bration catalogue would have to be the 'Adorable Owls', and whats even better, is that you can get it free with a $90 purchase of stampin up products during January and February 2023.

I have spent the last week of my Christmas leave making so many cards featuring these cute little owls, and will be sharing them over the coming weeks.

Today's card is bright and happy and is perfect for our climate in Australia...Summer!

For the background, I stamped up my rays of light stamp in daffodil delight, then used my blender brushes to add a little peekaboo peach and mango melody inks just around the sun area for a little more depth. I then cut a large circle around the sun area and used another piece of card stock underneath with a blended sun using daffodil delight, peekaboo peach and mango melody. This gave it the pop it needed to brighten the card up.

I used my crumb cake re-inker and water colour brush for the owl, making sure I used light and darker shades. I used my blender markers for the eyes, beak, feet and bow tie, as this was much easier to do than trying to water colour those tiny little areas.

The branch and leaves were die cut using the apple blossoms dies. I assembled the card and added the sentiment and little flowers to finish the card off. Hope this makes you smile :)
