Dashing Deer Christmas Card

So Christmas is fast approaching us, and I will be sharing a few trendy Christmas cards over the next few weeks to help get you inspired for the festive season and your creative juices flowing.

I am so glad that the 'Dashing Deer' stamp and dies sets are still available for purchase. It was one of my favourite sets when they released it last Christmas and I have made many cards with this bundle. The foliage is die cut from the 'Pretty Pines' thinlits dies.

Bird Banter Birthday Card

Today's post is a card that is suitable for everyone.....both genders and all ages!

I was inspired by Ilse Stouten's card, and decided to case it making a few subtle changes. I love how the bright colours look against the black background.

Timber Themed Masculine Card

I really enjoy making masculine cards and the one below is one that I cased from Connie Collins. When I saw the background on the card that Connie made, I new I had to give it a go and I really enjoyed putting this one together. My card orientation and sentiment is different from Connie's, as I always like to change things a little, to make it my own.

I used the one of the sheets of DSP from the 'wood textures' pack, and cut it into thin wood strips and then inked the white edges with early espresso ink. I laid the wood strips diagonally onto a black piece of card stock, leaving about 1 millimeter space in between each strip. I then trimmed the 4 sides of the background piece and adhered it to my card base and embellished it with my sentiment, linen thread and a leaf from the 'seasonal layers' dies.

Varied Vases Birthday Card

Well, the last six months has flown by, and it has been an extremely busy time for me, and I am way behind on sharing regular posts with you all.....my apologies!

For my next few posts, I will be playing a bit of 'catch up', but will promise to share as much as I can.

For this post, I am sharing a card made with the 'Varied Vases' Stampin Up stamp set. I love using rainbow colours on white or crumb cake card stock, as it really makes the colours pop. I used a water spritzer on the vases after I had coloured them, and then used paper towel to dab up the water, which removed a little of the colour and gave me the effect I was after.

Etsy Made Local Event - 23 November 2019

I am thrilled to be a part of the 'Etsy Made Local' handmade market this year.

It has been two years since I was part of the last event, so I have had lots of time to prepare heaps of hand-crafted items to sell. I will have a range of trendy greeting cards, gift tags and boxes, framed pictures and many other items.

So lock in the date and come and check out all the wonderful stalls at the Etsy Made Local handmade market at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

Decorative Hexagon Window Box

Sadly the 'Window Box Framelits' has retired, but I still wanted to share this sweet little box. The heart on the ribbon is used as a little handle to open the box.

The flower on top was made using the 'Festive Flower Builder Punch' and and a bone folder to curl the petals.

Pansy Punch Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is in a couple of days here in Australia, so I have a very simple card that is perfect for the occasion. My card is cased from a similar card that I found on the web, but unfortunately there was no watermark, so I am unable to credit the person who created it :(

Whilst my layout is similar, I changed the colours, flower and the sentiment. I also layered 4 die cuts together for the flower stem, petals and the love sentiment, to give it a bit more dimension.

Beautiful Bunch Birthday Card

Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted on my blog...life just got in the way!

I have also realised that I am so far behind in my photography, that I don't have any cards to share using the latest stamp sets. So, rather than posting nothing, I am sharing a card that I cased from Connie Collins a couple of years ago. I love everything about Connie's card, so I didn't want to stray too far from her original design. I have used similar colours, however my flower and sentiment are different.

Stampin Up new cling stamps are finally here!

Beginning with the 2019 occasions catalogue and Sale-a-Bration brochure, all new stamp sets will be available either in cling (for red rubber stamps) or photopolymer.

Stamps in the 2018-2019 annual catalogue will continue to be available in clear-mount, wood-mount or photopolymer.

Red rubber stamp sets (clear-mount or wood-mount) in the annual catalogue that will be carrying over will transition to cling with the 2019-2020 annual catalogue. So that means, in the 2019-2020 annual catalogue, clear-mount and wood-mount stamps will no longer be available.

Labelling cling stamps is a slightly different process than you may be used to. Please note: Once you place the label on the cling stamp, it is adhered permanently. Attempting to remove or adjust the label will damage the foam of the stamp. Each cling stamp case will also include labelling instructions.

It is important to follow the steps below to assemble cling stamps.
  • Remove the paper backing from the label.
  • Remove your selected stamp from the rubber sheet and remove the paper backing from the stamp.
  • Line up the foam side of the stamp with the image label, then press it evenly to adhere it to the label. Make sure it is correctly positioned before you adhere it to the stamp.
  • Remove the stamp and its newly-affixed image label from the label sheet.
  • Place the stamp on an acrylic block to begin stamping.
To remove the stamp from the block, grasp securely near the image label and remove slowly. Cling stamps stick so well that if they are not carefully removed from the block, the foam can tear.

To clean the labels, simply rinse under running water. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners.

To see how it is done, please watch the video below.

Jar of Love Christmas Shaker Card

Here is another Christmas card that uses a couple of older stamp sets that I still enjoy using. The stamps sets I used are: 'Jar of Love' (still current) and 'Festival of Trees' (retired). I love shaker cards, so decided to make another one using some clear glass sea beads for this card.
