Thank You Cards & Gift Bags

Well, it's almost been 3 months since I have put up a new post. I have been preoccupied with a new addition to our family...a new fur baby, which has taken up all my spare time. So apologies for not posting sooner, but better late than never right!

My new stampin up club started in May this year, and below are the cards & gift bags I made for each of my club members. The little bags were filled with chocolates and were given with the matching card. I used this year's new in colours for each set.

I cased the cards from Tammy Wilson, however I didn't have the stamp sets and dies she used, so I improvised with different sets.

The little handbags are not stampin up, however SU does have it's own little handbag dies which could be used instead.

All Occasions Card

I have my first club night for the year next week, and this is one of the cards we will be making. I will be show casing the new 'Basic Border Dies' which will be available for purchase on 4 May.

For this card I have used my favourite border in the set, it's my favourite because I can do two different borders with the one die. I die cut 2 borders, one in daffodil delight, and one in white, which was a larger piece so I could use it for the background. For the white border, I simply trimmed off the small scalloped edges and then placed this piece over the top of the daffodil delight piece.

The patterned background and flower I used, is from the 'True Love' DSP. I coloured the flower with my daffodil delight and granny apple green blender pens. I used 'Gorgeous Grunge' stamp set (now retired) for the ink splatter behind the flower. I also coloured some old clear glitter enamel dots (also retired) with my daffodil delight blender pen to make the bling pop a little more on the card.

Forever & Always Mother's Day Card

Well, it is only one week until Mother's Day here in Australia, so I have one last Mother's day card to share. I was inspired by Anna Pickering's card, as I have wanted to use the beautiful gold leaves and gold embellishment hoops that I purchased ages ago.

I changed the card quite a bit, I used the small flower from the "Forever & Always' stamp set, and used different colours for the background wash and flower. I also added a different sentiment, some bling, linen thread and a couple of strips of DSP from the 'True Love' series.

Apron of Love Mother's Day Card

The 'Apron of Love' stamp set and coordinating dies have retired, but I still love using this set to create cards. My mum is a pretty good cook and she is the best mum ever, so this card is very fitting for her.

I also love this colour combination, and have used it for other cards in the past.

Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is just around the corner here in Australia, so the next couple of posts I will be sharing will be for all the wonderful mothers out there!

I adore my mum, and can't wait to make her another beautiful card...and I know she loves them too!

For this card, I was inspired by another card from Steffi Helmschrott (I think she is my favourite Stampin Up demonstrator that I like to case from). There wasn't too much that I wanted to change (apart from the sentiment), as the card is perfect just the way it is.

Masculine Birthday Card

I have a super simple masculine birthday card to share. The background is just designer series paper (DSP), the word 'happy' has been stamped and the rest of the sentiment and embellishments have all been die cut from either plain cardstock or DSP.

Dragonfly Dreams Card

I love it when bright colours are used together to create a rainbow effect. I cased this card from Steffi Helmschrott, and when I first saw her card, I knew I had to give it a go. I did make some slight changes to mine to make it my own, and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

I find watercolouring a real challenge, so I have been practicing some different techniques to get the hang of it all. The technique I find the easiest and the one that gives me the best results, is the acetate technique.

For this technique, you add ink to an acetate sheet, then spritz the ink with some water, flip the sheet and lay it over your watercolour sheet, then slowing move the acetate sheet around until you get the desired look you are after.

I love this technique because you can add multiple colours at once, or individually, and it looks amazing once you have finished. I used this technique for the card below with 'daffodil delight' and 'pumpkin pie' ink.

Love You to Pieces Card

Since it is valentine's day tomorrow, I wanted to share another card for this occasion. Whilst this card is probably more suitable as an anniversary card for your loved one, it could be easily adapted to a valentine's day card by changing the sentiment.

Most of the products I used are now retired, but you could use current products to make something similar.

Snailed It Card

Here is another cute card using the 'Snailed It' stamp set and dies. This card can be used for any occasion.

I created the border and tiny little hearts on the computer, then printed it out on white card stock. I then stamped my two images from the stamp set using memento black ink, and coloured both images and the tiny little hearts in the border with my blender pens. I added a sentiment and some bling to finish off the card.

Sailing Home Card

I am so glad the 'Sailing Home' stamp set and coordinating dies are still current Stampin Up items, as I have so many cards to share using this set.

I was inspired by Lauren Alarid's card as I loved the colour scheme she used. I did change the orientation of the card, the sentiment and a couple of other little embellishments, but overall my card is very similar.

Valentine's Day Card

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I have another stunning card to share to mark this special occasion.

I cased Steffi Helmschrott's card, but made a few changes, like using a cute little envelope instead of a box. This card was a bit of a challenge to add the red and white splatter dots, as I wanted it to look like the splatter was coming out of the envelope.....I got there in the end.

Sip Sip Hooray Wedding Card

Need a wedding card that's a little more special? If so, then I have the perfect card for you. It's a wedding shaker card, which uses the 'Sip Sip Hooray' and the 'Your Perfect Day' stamps sets.

I wanted to keep the card really simple, but still making sure it had some elegance about it. The photo doesn't really do the card any justice, it looks so much better in real life and is very sparkly.

Snailed It Birthday Card

Sharing another card which uses the 'Snailed It' stamp set and the coordinating dies. I love how bright and fun this card is, and it will make a perfect birthday card to send in the mail.

Quick and Easy Birthday Card

I have a clean and simple card for you today, which literally only took about 10-15 minutes to make.

I cased Dena Rekow's card, and whilst my layout and colours are pretty much the same, I did change the die-cut word, stamped sentiment, and the type of flower.
