Special Milestone Birthday Card

Need a super special card for an important milestone birthday? Then why not consider making a gorgeous card in a box. This card folds flat so is perfect for posting to that special someone.

I absolutely love the colour combination of this card. I use my card in a box tutorial to make the box structure, which is super easy, and then decorated it using some older (retired) stamping up stamps sets that I still adore and won't get rid of.

I used the 'baby wipes stamping technique' for the larger butterflies, which is a fun way to make them look a little more interesting.

Follow your dreams Card

I just love the 'Follow your dreams' stamp set, even though it is now retired, I still get plenty of use from this set. It's pertfect for birthday cards or graduation cards...and what girl doesn't love dream catchers.

I was inspired by Steffi Helmschrott's card and only made a few subtle changes. I really love the gold embossed tips of the feathers which you can see well in the second image.

Cheers to Dads!

It is father's day here in Australia today, so I have one more perfect card to share for the occasion.

I used the following stamp sets to create the card: mixed drinks (for the beer), gorgeous grunge, timeless textures, and touches of texture (for the background) and labeler alphabet (for the sentiment). I added some black metallic thread and clear enamel dots for the finishing touches.

Cheers to all the dads out there, happy father's day!

Father's Day Cards

Wow, it's been a while since I have added a post, so I am sharing a couple of father's day cards, just in time for father's day tomorrow.

The first one is a very simple card. I used the 'wood textures DSP' for the background, the 'dad' die cut (die is not SU) and the banner. I added the sentiment and a screw from the 'urban underground embellishments'.

The second card is still simple, but has a few extra elements. I used very vanilla cardstock for the base and top layer, and added some strips of DSP and early espresso cardstock to each side. I used the texture paste (added a couple of drops of sahara sand ink) and the brick wall stencil to create the brick background, making sure it wasn't perfect...as I wanted a weathered look. The 'happy' word was die cut from the 'happy birthday' die in both early espresso and cajun craze and raised with some dimensionals. Lastly, I added my sentiment, banner and a couple of screw brads, then added the top layer to the card base.

I loved how both cards turned out. The second card is the one I am giving my dad this year.

Sending Love Card

This card is perfect for any occasion and given all the craziness in the world right now with the Coronavirus, it's a perfect time to send a card like this to someone you love.

Since I am unable to visit my parents for the next little while, I will be sending this card to them, just so they know that I am thinking of them during this time.

Birthday Wit Card

For those that prefer a card with a little humour, then these ones are for you. Both cards are made using the 'Birthday Wit' stamp set from Stampin Up. I used rainbow colours to give the card a bright vibrant and happy feel.

Special Reason Birthday Card

I have another birthday card using the 'Special Reason' stamp set by Stampin Up. It is a nice clean and simple design, that doesn't take too long to make.

Punch Art Lion Card

Sharing another punch art animal, after all who doesn't love making punch art. Leo the lion is made using many stampin up punches, and he is so adorable.

Sailing Home Interactive Card

Who doesn't love the 'Sailing Home' bundle in the Stampin Up annual catalogue? I adore this set, probably because I grew up down the coast, so it reminds me of home.

I have seen a few cards online that light up, and was inspired by Isabell Jauss's card, and knew I had to do something similar. Isabell, has a video of how she did the card, but unfortunately it is in German, so I couldn't understand a word, but I got the general idea just by watching it.

The products Isabell used to make the light mechanism, are not available in Australia, so I made the decision to invested in a chibi-tronics kit instead, so I could give it a go myself. This kit came with simple instructions that you can easily apply to a card. The third image shows the light on, when 'buoy is pressed'.

Butterfly Beauty Birthday Card

I have used minimal stamping on this card, as I have taken advantage of using the 'Butterfly Beauty' and the 'Well Written' dies to achieve the desired look I was after.

Let the Good Times Roll Birthday Card

I have the perfect fun card that is suitable for any child. It is made using the 'Let the Good Times Roll' stamp set and the 'Thrill Ride Pop-up' thinlits dies. Let's be honest...who doesn't love a good roller coaster ride.

I cased the inside of the card from the 2018 mini catalogue, well...the colours anyway. The pop-up dies, takes a bit of time to get it right, so you'll need patience when using this set, but the end result is well worth it.

Happiness Surrounds Birthday Card

I have another simple card to share, which is made using the 'Happiness Surrounds' stamp set and the 'Snowfall' thinlits dies. It's a nice and easy card to put together and adding the bling and silver twine, certainly gives it an elegant feel.

Beautiful Bouquet Birthday Card

The 'Beautiful Bouquet' stamp set and the 'Bouquet Bunch' dies, are a couple of my favourite items in the 'Stampin Up annual catalogue'. There are so many choices you can make with both of these sets, and the bouquet is very easy to assemble to get a lovely bunch of flowers.

I was inspired by Mary Fish's card, and loved the simplicity of how the bouquet of flowers looked against the clean vanilla background. I did use a different sentiment, and changed the colours of the stamped flowers, to give it a pop of colour.

Sending Love Card

This is a card I made for a colour challenge that I was given for one of my upline team meetings, and since Valentines Day is in a couple of days, it was a good time to share it.

We'll Walrus be Friends Card

I am sharing a card that I made for a sketch challenge that I set for one of my club nights late last year. I found the challenge from the Global Design Project website, it was sketch challenge 050, which you can see here.

I actually struggle with this challenge myself, as the sketch was so simple, I thought the card may end up looking too plain and boring, but in the end, I was quite happy with the result.

Woods Words Card

I really enjoy making simple cards, especially when using the 'wood textures' DSP (now retired). So when I came across Mel Pagano's card, I new I had to case it. I kept everything the same, except I added some 'clear epoxy dots' for some added texture.

Love You to Pieces Card

Valentines Day is next week, so I thought it would be best to share a card suitable for the occasion.

I cased one of the cards for the 'Love you to Pieces' bundle on page 113 of the 2018-2019 Stampin Up annual catalogue. I made a couple of small changes, one being the size of the card and I used a different doily and ribbon.
