Etsy Made Local Event - 25 November 2017

I am thrilled to be a part of the 'Etsy Made Local Canberra' event again. It has been two years since the last event, so I have had lots of time to prepare heaps of hand-crafted items to sell. I will have a range of trendy greeting cards, gift tags and boxes, framed pictures and many other items.

There will be over 100 stalls/workshops, live music, face painting, food and drink vendors and a ATM on site. Entry is by a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to the Whisker Woods Sanctuary.

So lock in the date and come and check out all the wonderful stalls at Etsy Made Local Canberra.

Pretty Pines Christmas Cards

I love the simplicity of these cards and the earthy tones that were used. These cards are very easy to make and you can change the look just by varying the type of bow used.

Santa's Sleigh Christmas Z-fold Card

So Christmas is a little over ten weeks away, so it is definitely time for me to start sharing some Christmas cards, like the amazing one below.

I got my inspiration from Chloe Evans' card that she made a little while back, which is absolutely stunning, so I knew I had to case it. I did make a few subtle changes to the sled and presents and I also added a sentiment to finish the card off.

I had a lot of fun making this card, but it did take quite some time to complete.

Fox Builder Baby Card

I have another card that showcases the versatility of the "Fox Builder Punch" that I wanted to share. I cased the card from Valerie Moody who cased the bear from Nicole Kunzig.

As soon as I saw the cute little bear, I knew I had to make some cute baby cards with it. I did alter my bear by giving him 2 paws/arms, as I felt this was missing and made the bear complete.

Foxy Friends - Wild About You Card

Today I am sharing another cute little card made using the "Foxy Friends" stamp set and the coordinating "Foxy Builder" punch. You can also view my last post using this stamp set, if you wish to make a more simplified card.

A Nice Cuppa Card

Is there someone in your life who loves a cuppa, then this is the perfect card for them. You can change the sentiment to suit a tea or a coffee drinker.

I love how simple and clean this card looks and it's super quick and easy to make.

Masculine Fishing Card

Father's day is just around the corner, so I wanted to share a cascade card that I made a couple of years ago, using the "By the Tide" stamp set which is now retired. You can find my cascade card instructions here, please ensure you scroll down to the bottom of the page.

I made the fishing rods by hand, using a long strip of card stock and several circle punches which I used for the reel and to thread the bakers twine through so that it would resemble fishing line.

I did plenty of fussing cutting for the fish and sea horses, which took a bit of time, but made the end result well worth it.

Detailed Floral Thinlits Card

The Stampin Up detailed floral thinlits makes a perfect wedding or engagement card. Bellow are a couple of versions on how to use the dies differently. I prefer to use rich colours, like night of navy or fresh fig against white, as it really make the detail in the flowers stand out.

Bear Hugs Card

This card could be used for many different occasions and was very quick and easy to make. The cute little bear and heart was stamped using the "Bear Hugs" stamp set which is now retired.

Gold Foil Mother's Day Card

I have been playing around with some foiling techniques that I discovered from Jennifer McGuire's Blog, she explains in detail what you'll need and also has a video to show how it is done.

Basically you'll need a laser printer (the toner is what makes this whole process work), artwork to print, foil sheets and a laminator. I highly recommend watching the video Jennifer has done, so you can see how easy it is to make simple foil cards.

I designed the artwork below on my computer just by using different styled fonts and font sizes until I was happy with the design. I printed it out on my laser printer so that the words were solid black, then added a gold foil sheet on top of the artwork, placed it in between a folded sheet of A4 paper and ran it through a laminator. Magically the foil adheres to the toner, leaving you with a stunning card. I added a few red hearts and voila......card done!

Easter Bunny Fries Box

I wanted to share a cute little Easter bunny box that I cased from Cathy Stevenson that was showcased on Becky Roberts Blog. Cathy makes some beautiful punch art projects, and this is one that I just had to do for Easter.

Sadly most of the punches and dies used to make this box are either retired or about to retire, but you may be lucky enough to still pick up some of these products in the retiring list or clearance rack.

Butterfly Basics Cards

Today, I have another gorgeous card that I cased from Steffi Helmschrott. I kept the same layout, but used different colours and added a banner to finish of the card.

I wanted a two toned look for both my butterfly and banner, so I used the baby wipes technique to achieve this.

Special Occasion Birthday Cards

Need a card for an upcoming special birthday? Try a simple black card, add a pop of colour and some glimmer numbers. I was inspired by a card from Teneale Williams, but used various different products to achieve a similar look.....simple and elegant!

Hey, Chick Birthday Card

Sadly, sale-a-bration is finished for another year, and I hope you all received some nice freebies during the promotion.

The stamp set "Hey, Chick" was my favourite set, so I am sharing a card that I made using this set. I was inspired by the card on page 16 of the sale-a-bration catalogue, and decided to add the other two chickens on top as well. It was a little tricky, lining up the stamps so that the feet were in the correct position, but I got there in the end.

Jar of Love Card

I wanted to showcase another card using the "Jar of Love" stamp set with the coordinating dies. I was inspired by a card that I had seen on pinterest made by Pamela Staples, I loved the fresh summery colours she used and decided that I would case it making a few subtle changes.

I silver embossed my background splotches and the jar on vellum paper, then I cut another jar out of a window sheet and attached it to the vellum jar with some linen thread to hold the two together. This gave my jar a nice glossy look...like a real glass jar.

The jar was stuck down on the two sides, so I could slide the flower stems and leaves into the top of the jar. Lastly, I added a tag and some fireflies to finish off the card.

Foxy Friends - Wild About You Card

The new "Foxy Friends" stamp set and coordinating punch is proving to be very popular bundle. I love how versatile this set is and I have seen so many wonderful creations made with it, and I thought it was time to share one of my own designs...a very simple card!

Since I did not have a stamp that said "wild about you" I decided to print my own sentiment instead.

Cool Treats Cards Shown at Onstage

Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to the "Onstage" event in Brisbane last year, however was pretty excited that I was able to watch the event online. This meant I still got to see the sneak peaks and some amazing projects made by the stampin up crew.

I cased the below card from one of the cards that Shannon West showcased at the event. Naturally, I changed mine around a bit, to make it my own.

Casing the Sale-a-bration Catalogue

When I saw one the projects made in the Sale-a-bration catalogue, using the "Designer Tee" stamp set, I knew that I had to case the card. I liked the overall layout of the card, but wanted to change the colour scheme and add a bit more bling to jazz it up some more. I love these colours together and thoroughly enjoyed making this card.

Cool Treats Birthday Card

I will be sharing several cards made using the "Cool Treats" stamp set and the "Frozen Treats" coordinating dies, as this is my favourite set in the new Occasions catalogue. I love the colour combination they used in the paper and the possibilities to create stunning projects with this set are endless.

Sealed With Love Valentine's Day Card

Below are a couple of quick and easy valentine's day cards to give to that special person in your life.

I cased the top one from Marsia Aivarez and decided to also do a masculine version as well, something a little less girly! I added a couple of banners to the top of my cards as I felt it was a little to plain without this.

Jar of Love Shaker Card

Since it is summer in Australia at the moment, I though it would be great to share a card that represents the ocean and the beach. I used some clear glass beads and fussy cut some starfish to shake around in the card. I am very happy with the end result and hope my viewers like it too.
