Christmas Cards

Christmas is just around the corner, so I am sharing some more Chrissy cards to hopefully inspire you to get creative for the festive season.

I have seen many of these cute little elves on cards and wanted to share with you my version of a trendy little elf holding a present. I hope to share more punch art projects and will endevour to spend some time designing punch art tutorials down the track.

This cute little Santa was the very first Christmas card I made, he was cased from Cindy Lawrence.

The below card was cased from Mary Fish, but I have used different papers and changed the ornament.

Also you can make some stunning 3D baubles to hang on your Christmas tree and try adding some glass beads just to give them a bit more bling.

Spiral Flower Card

The 3D flowers I made for this card are similar to the SU spiral flower die. I punch out 3 large circles and cut them with scissors into spiral shapes and added them to the centre of some other flowers. The subtle tones work well together and the card would be suitable for many occasions.

Build a Bird Card

I cased this card from Erica Cerwin and I love how simple it looks. I used SU hemp twine (retired) for the wreath and the SU build a bird punch for the bird and leaves.

Get Well Card

Today I wanted to share a nice simple get well card. I made the umbrella using the SU scoreboard and some silver glimmer card for the handle. I turned the umbrella upside down and filled it with flowers and sprirals and added some rhinestones, ribbon and the sentiment.

Flower Shop Projects

The Stampin Up flower shop stamp set is one of my favourites and very versatile to make many projects. Below is my version of the single stemmed flowers found on page 95 of the 2013-14 annual catalogue and a simple birthday card using the stamp set.

My card below was cased from Rae Harper-Burnet and I love the contrast of the white snowflakes against the timber background.

My card below was cased from Les Ateliers de Val.

My card below was cased from Steffi Helmschrott and is one of my favourite Christmas cards.

My card below was cased from Melissa Stout.

Below are a couple of thank you cards. I love the simplicity of the first one and it really is very quick and easy to make.

The next card is using the new flower frenzy bigz die.....which might become a favourite of mine.

Scalloped Circle Flower Card

This card was cased from one of my favourite designers Steffi Nitzpon. I'm always inspired by her cards and projects, as she always creates beautiful unique designs.

Santa & Elf Pants Tutorial

Christmas is just around the corner..... and I have finished my second Christmas tutorial. These trendy little Santa and Elf Pants are great to fill with goodies and give to someone special at Christmas. The boxes are approximately 4 ¾" high x 4" wide x 1 ¾" deep, please visit my Etsy Shop for more details.

Christmas Advent Calendar Tutorial

Christmas is not far away..... and I have finally finished my "Christmas Advent Calendar" tutorial for the occasion, please visit my Etsy Shop for more details.

I have spent countless hours over the last few months formulating, testing and perfecting the design. The calendar can be made in different colours, I did one in traditional Christmas colours and the other one in cool snowy colours. I used the 25 & Counting stamp set which unfortunately has retired, however you can still purchase the digital stamp set to complete the project. Each box compartment is almost 2" high x 1 ½" wide x 1" deep, which means you can fit a few candies in each box.

Flower Patch Card

This is probably one of the most popular card designs in the catalogue, it can be found on page 155.
I used the digital stamp set, printed out the flowers I wanted, cut them with the dies and layered them with dimensionals. I used the weathered background stamp (retired), added some linen thread, rhinestones and the wording.

Spiral Flower Topiary

I have seen many spiral flower topiary designs and liked the one that Sue Franco did with red roses and small white flowers scattered in some of the gaps, this is my version.

Fathers Day Card

This was the fathers day card that I made for my husband. He has always wanted a motorbike and this was the only one I could afford.

I purchased the digital stamp and printed it on crumb cake, whisper white and real red card stock.
I used my craft knife to cut around intricate parts of the image and then layered them on top of one another using multipurpose liquid glue. I am pretty happy with the end result and like how vibrant the white and red colours are against the crumb cake.

Mosaic Madness Thank You Card

Another one of my favourite cards cased from the catalogue, you can find this one on page 163. It uses the "Mosaic Madness" stamp set and I wanted to keep the same colour scheme.

Craft Gift Box

A great size box that I made in one of my upline classes. We cut the lid off the ready made craft gift box and made our own lid and decorated it with a large bow and tags. We punched a flower in the front of the box and added a window sheet and smaller flower. Makes a pretty nice box to fill with yummy treats or a small gift.

Owl Cards

One of my favourite punches is the Stampin Up build an owl punch.....it never gets old and like I've mentioned in earlier posts it seems to be the most versatile punch available.

Below is a card I cased from Diane Barnes, I used different colours and didn't want it to be too fussy, which is why it makes a great masculine card.

Below is a card that was cased from Kirsty Brown, I didn't have the same paper and ribbon that Kirsty used, but the general layout is the same.

Wedding Card

Today I wanted to share a wedding card that I cased from the wonderful designer Mary Fish. She is well known for her clean simple, yet beautiful designs. I have cased a few cards from Mary and will share them with you in the coming weeks.

Casing Quick & Easy Cards

Sometimes we need a card quickly, but don't have a lot of time to spend making it, so I have cased a few cards from other designers that only take between half an hour to an hour to complete from start to finish.

Steffi Helmschrott's card inspired me to make the card below. It uses the "Elementary Elegance" Stampin Up stamp set. I changed the colours and stamped a few more butterflies and birds on my card.

My second card was cased from Rita Wright, the layout and colours are the same, but I changed the embossing folder, ribbon, sentiment and the flower.

This card was cased from Tanya Kolar and was very quick to make. I did add several itty bitty flower punches just to bling it up a little more.
